ACE chapters in Michigan offer a variety of activities aimed at helping young people explore potential careers in architecture, engineering and construction.
In addition, local chapters, affiliates, and the ACE national office may provide financial assistance to students who pursue a post-high-school course of study leading to a career in the building industry.
You can find an ACE program in a number of Michigan cities, with more being added all the time. To learn more about Michigan’s current ACE programs, click on the city under Michigan to the left. If your city is not listed, contact us to see about starting a program in your area or joining a program in a neighboring community.
CIRT in partnership with the ACE Mentor Program annually sponsors a Design Competition. CIRT is composed of approximately 100 CEOs from the leading architectural, engineering and construction firms who will review presentations from across the country by ACE Mentor affiliates. The Detroit ACE Affiliate chose the City Centre Challenge for their submission. Collectively the team decided on a bridge park in the downtown Detroit business/entertainment district and surrounding residential areas. The bridge park is to serve as a community connector for an area which is currently physically divided by a freeway, to a thriving entertainment and shopping district. Wish the ACE students and their mentors Tina Hesley from Tooles Contracting, Yousuf Taufiq from Parson Brinckerhoff, Eric Sanders from Devon Industrial Group and Tim Mahoney from Gensler good luck with their design submission
