Once an ACE Mentor student at Westlake High School in southwest Atlanta, Kym is well aware of the value of mentoring to young people on the brink of adulthood. She earned a civil engineering degree, and soon after taking a position with Turner, became a mentor with ACE Atlanta. Kym is the Team Leader of Atlanta’s largest team, which requires that she plan for, organize, and lead more than 10 mentors that support more than 30 students. She has also either supported or led curriculum development for the entire affiliate for the past three years. Kym was also instrumental in creating ACE Atlanta’s first Resource Handbook, a 50-plus page document that provides an ACE roadmap and extensive resources to guide ACE sessions.
