In the past, ACE Mentor students have received a scholarship to attend the Fallingwater Summer Studio. This opportunity is available to active ACE Mentor students again for the 2017 summer program.
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 for the Edgar Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh, Fallingwater is famous the world-over and attracts thousands of visitors each year. Owned and operated by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, it was named the “Best All-time Work of Architecture” by the American Institute of Architects in 1986, a National Historic Landmark in 1976, a Pennsylvania Commonwealth Treasure in 2000, and is in line to be recognized as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational and Scientific Organization).
Summer Camp: During the summer, Fallingwater offers two sessions for a high school residency Architect Camp.

Testimonial from an ACE student that attended Fallinwater in 2016:
During my time at Fallingwater I was given the opportunity to delve further into the field that I love and also to learn the principles of sketching and hand drafting which I believe will help me in college and life beyond.
My favorite activity was probably the presentations at the end of the week because we were able to get constructive criticism from professionals in the field and also show off what we did all week.
To anyone considering applying for this program- It is the most fun you’ll have all summer and it is worth every second of it. From the projects to the sketching to the overall experience itself, this was an amazing opportunity and I am so happy that I did decide to apply and you will too.
