Velma Korbel, a trailblazer in civil rights and diversity for over 25 years, has served as the first Chief DEI and Sustainability Officer at APi Group since 2020. With a commitment to fostering inclusion and spearheading sustainability efforts, she leverages her extensive background in civil rights. Previously, she was the Director of Civil Rights in Minneapolis and Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. Velma also contributes to various boards, including the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, Minneapolis Institute of Arts and Urban League Twin Cities. Velma was introduced to ACE when she served as a volunteer for the Minneapolis affiliate. She currently sits on the ACE National Diversity Committee. A U.S. Navy veteran, she holds a bachelor’s in business and anA MBA.
