Dale, a sales manager with Pike Industries, has been a mentor on the Portland Team for the last five years, with a clear commitment to both students and his fellow mentors. He is always the first to volunteer his efforts in the classroom and jumps at any opportunity to help another mentor or student. During the pandemic, Dale offered the services of his company to deliver materials across Southern Maine to students in different towns. At least once a month over two years, Dale would pick-up all of the materials for that month, distribute them to his staff, and coordinate the deliveries to every school. When he heard that several ACE Portuguese-speaking students were struggling to keep up with the weekly activities, he committed to finding hiring and paying for an interpreter for these students so that they can fully experience of the ACE Mentor Program. More recently, he joined the ACE Maine Affiliate’s Board of Directors and has been active on the Mentor Committee, helping plan mentor events and assisting in mentor recruitment.
