Groundbreaking 2019
What a wonderful end of year event for our students, their mentors and their families. We had an evening full of presentations, awards, recognitions and most of all great food. We gave out awards to our mentors, to our students and to our event sponsors. We acknowledged all of our board members and their hard work. We also added a new item to the program event, an award for student recruitment. ACE swag, a gift card and a plaque to our winner. $500 cash award for first place went to the Kickapoo High School Team. Great job everyone!
First Site Visit to the Willard Intermediate School
First Site Visit is officially in the books! We had great time touring the Willard Intermediate School site on Friday. Thank you to JE Dunn for opening your project to our program and giving us a tour!

We had a successful fundraiser event!
Thanks to everyone who helped make our first annual Industry Fundraiser Event a success! We had a wonderful time touring the Primatara Wine Cave, eating fantastic food and learning about ACE. Until next year!
Event sponsors are needed!
Our annual Groundbreaking Event is quickly approaching and we are looking for community partners to help sponsor our project presentations, food and awards. Sponsorship forms will be posted soon, feel free to contact us directly by email or phone to discuss how you can help!
Campus Tours were a hit!
Thank you to OTC and Drury for hosting our annual campus tour and team building event. Students toured the Drury School of Architecture and the OTC Construction Technology departments. Hands on activities were included at both sites along with a team building activity at the end for everyone. Thanks to our board members and parents for helping make this event a success!
2018-2019 Student Kick Off Event was great!
We met at Parkview High School this year for our kickoff event. Had pizza, talked with students and parents about the program year and paired up teams and mentors for the year. We can’t wait to see how this year ends at our project presentation event.
Student Registration is open from August 1, 2018- September 7, 2018.
The selection process will begin on September 8th and selected students will receive information on our Kick Off Event for the 2018-19 school year. We have a revised outline for this year based on student, parent and mentor feedback from our first year and are excited to see how it is received! Don’t miss out!!
Create, Build and Present, Phase 3:
Is going on now! Student groups are meeting on a regular basis with their mentors to work on final project presentations to be given on April 3rd, 2018 at our Ground Breaking Event! Students were given outlines to guide their project selections and we are excited to see how creative they can become. Feel free to purchase tickets if you would like to attend. Email us for additional information!
All Hands On, Phase 2:
Our Phase 2 field trip was a hit! We completed a combined tour between Drury University’s School of Architecture and OTC’s Construction Technology Facilities. The students were able to visit labs, listen to staff talk about their programs and roast a few marshmallows. Our team building event was a canned food tower that we then donated for holiday food baskets. Win Win. See you all in the new year!
Update! Intro to the Trades Phase 1:
We are so pleased with how our first year Phase 1 meetings are going. Thank you to everyone who has hosted an event or helped prepare documents. Introduction to Architecture and to Construction have both been completed and feedback from our students and mentors alike has been great. Our last session is for Engineering and will take place on November 15, rounding out the PH1 agenda and moving us into Phase 2 – Hands On, which is a scheduled field trip. Check out more information or follow our process on Facebook.
