Milo Riverso is the chief executive officer and president of STV Group, Inc., one of the nation’s largest planning, design and construction management firms. Mr. Riverso has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of program management, construction and design management.
He joined STV in April 2005 as senior vice president of STV Construction Inc., and was soon named that division’s chief operating officer. He became an executive vice president one year later. Under Mr. Riverso’s leadership, STV’s construction management practice tripled in size and expanded its range of services, which resulted in larger and more complex projects being awarded to the firm. Mr. Riverso was named president of STV in February 2009 and became a member of the board in 2011. In September of 2011, he was named chief executive officer.
As president and CEO, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s daily operations, as well as the overall management of its corporate, technical, financial, and administrative activities. Under his leadership, the firm has continued to grow, having recently completed the acquisition of a Denver-based energy services firm serving the Rocky Mountain region.
The former chairman of the Construction Management Association of America, Mr. Riverso is vice chairman of the New York Building Congress, special advisor to the New York City Post of the Society of American Military Engineers, chairman of the board of the New York Affiliate of the ACE Mentor Program, Executive Committee member of the National Board of Directors of the ACE Mentor Program of America and The Regional Alliance for Small Contractors. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers and the Urban Land Institute.
Mr. Riverso has been recognized for his many contributions to the industry. He recently received Manhattan College’s De La Salle Medal and Purdue University’s 2015 Civil Engineering Alumnus Achievement Award as well as the Subcontractors Trade Association’s Michael Mazzucca Lifetime Achievement Award. He was also recently elected to the prestigious National Academy of Construction. Among his many other awards are the New York Landmarks Conservancy 2012 Man of the Year, the “Good Scout” Award from the Boy Scouts of America and the New York Building Congress George A Fox Public Service Award. Recently, he was named a member of Manhattan College’s Board of Trustees.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Riverso served as the president and chief executive officer of the New York City School Construction Authority. In that position, he supervised the agency’s staff of 900 employees who were responsible for the planning, design and construction of capital improvements and new construction of New York City’s 1,199 public schools which serve more than one million students. During his tenure with the agency, it designed and built new schools and additions in record time. In addition, Mr. Riverso has served in executive management positions at a number of major construction management firms.
Mr. Riverso earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Manhattan College, and his master’s and doctorate degrees from Purdue University. He is a registered professional engineer in New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Michigan.
