Rob McDonough

Current Responsibilities
Rob McDonough is the US construction industry leader for Marsh. He is responsible for strategy, leadership, and growth of the Construction Practice, including the timely delivery of resources and services to ensure high client satisfaction. In addition to construction, Rob oversees our US surety, subcontractor default and project risk units.
Rob provides support to 600 Marsh colleagues who serve more than 1,200 construction clients across the US.
Experience
Rob joined our firm in 2016 and has more than 23 years of surety and construction industry experience. Prior to joining Marsh, he held a number of regional and national leadership roles in both surety and construction for a global broker based in their New York offices. He started his insurance career as a surety underwriter with Chubb & Son.
Rob brings significant experience and works closely with many different stakeholders across surety and construction. Most recently, Rob was the Northeast Zone Surety and Construction Leader for Marsh managing the surety and construction resources in our Boston, Hartford, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York offices. He has been involved in numerous M&A transactions to provide value and counsel to our clients. During his career, Rob has helped design programs for complex infrastructure, including alternative project delivery projects and public private partnerships (PPP), advised clients during merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions, developed solutions for controlled insurance and surety programs, and works closely within our project teams to bring all of Marsh’s resources to our clients.
Rob is based in New York and is a frequent speaker at various industry risk management conferences and forums.
