Summer Programs in Engineering


Each year, ACE Mentor students have the opportunity to receive a scholarship to attend the Fallingwater Summer Studio.


Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 for the Edgar Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh, Fallingwater is famous the world-over and attracts thousands of visitors each year. Owned and operated by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, it was named the “Best All-time Work of Architecture” by the American Institute of Architects in 1986, a National Historic Landmark in 1976, a Pennsylvania Commonwealth Treasure in 2000, and is in line to be recognized as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational and Scientific Organization).

Summer Residencies for High School Students
Fallingwater offers three summer sessions of High School Residency:

  • High School Residency: Studio 1
    Saturday, June 21 to Saturday, June 29, 2019
    Recommended for students who have completed grade 10 and up.
  • High School Residency: Studio 2
    Saturday, July 20 to Saturday July 27, 2019
    Recommended for students who have completed grade 11 and up, including gap year and first year college.
  • High School Residency: Drawing Intensive
    Monday, July 15 to Thursday, July 18, 2019



California Camp 2015 Summary

Twenty-seven top students from ACE affiliates across California and Colorado recently completed ACE’s fifth annual week-long overnight ACE CA summer camp – this year at Sacramento State University. During the eight-day camp, the students designed and built custom benches for the September 11th Memorial at the California State Fair grounds. Camp was organized by a planning committee made up of ACE Sacramento board members, Sacramento Regional Builder’s Exchange members, the AGC of CA Construction Education Foundation, the Sacramento County Office of Education, Sacramento State Construction Management Dept. as well as ACE national.
